A Rainy Night in Chiang Mai – Watch it in YouTube!

I’m Somchai, a 45-year-old taxi driver from Chiang Mai, Thailand. My job takes me through every corner of this vibrant city, but one fateful night delivered an experience that still sends chills down my spine. It was raining heavily, and the streets glistened under the streetlights. The city felt eerily quiet, almost as if it were holding its breath, preparing for something unusual.

The Mysterious Passenger

As I was concluding my last fare, I noticed a figure under a flickering streetlight. A woman in a traditional Thai dress stood there, her long black hair flowing behind her. Her face, pale and ghostly, sparked a sense of unease within me. I instinctively pulled over and asked if she needed a ride. She climbed into the backseat without uttering a single word. The atmosphere grew dense, filled with an unsettling chill that seemed to envelop the taxi.

The Eerie Destination

While driving, I dared to glance at her through the rearview mirror. Her eyes appeared empty, fixed firmly ahead. Despite my attempts at conversation, she remained unresponsive. The silence thickened with each passing moment, amplifying my growing unease. Suddenly, her cold whisper pierced the air: “Stop here.” I complied, and she exited without a sound, walking towards a small, ancient temple nestled in the darkness.

Overcome by curiosity, I trailed after her. As I approached the temple, an inexplicable presence seemed to pull at my very being. The air was frigid; an eerie quiet cloaked the area. Peering inside, I caught a glimpse of her body, twisted unnaturally as she knelt before an old shrine, a mournful wail enveloping the space. Panic surged through me; I bolted back to my taxi, heart racing, driving away as fast as I could. Later, I discovered that this woman had passed away in that very temple, her spirit eternally haunting the site. To this day, I avoid that cursed place—some encounters are best left unseen.
